and i don't know why the cops around here they seem so pissed to me but i know i'd like this town better if they'd just let me be and everyone round here feels the same far as i can see and that's why we say fuck the police for all the poor folks they've harassed all throughout history and every innocent shot down from Diallo to Malik and i remember back in high school when they beat down Rodney King and that's why we say fuck the police and at all the major protests they're there to keep the peace but all they do is protect the wealth of greedy companies and i guess these days peace means gassing kids down in the streets and that's why we say fuck the police for every innocent shot down for every stolen life for every kid busted for weed in a holding cell tonight for Jeffrey Luers and Peltier and all those still inside yeah we'll break em outta prison once we break these chains outside and if history means anything it's know your enemy and the odds are stacked against us but they'll never stop our dreams and one day when there's no pigs left we'll dance to victory but until that day fuck the police and i hope no one calls the police cause after all the shit they pull i guess it's up to me and youand that's why we say fuck the police

the bossman says you lost your job back on welfare lazy slob the leaders tell us we're at war won't tell you what we're fighting for but the landlord wants his money now and now you're in a cardboard house the policeman says you can't do that but the preacher says it'll be alright if you make it to the afterlife but the lawyers say it'll take awhile sit in your cell until your trial but the man on the street says fuck all that we won't starve while they get fat the policeman beats him down the cops and the judges the banks and the schools the bosses make you a wage slave to their rules but the kid on the street with a brick in his hand he won't be a part of their plan gonna have a show tonight a benefit for something right another injustice we must fight but we're not going home tonight gonna take it to the police station not just another demonstration a line of riot cops awaits the cops and politicians on one side their corrupt power is on the line their mace and sticks can't stop us all and this ain't just one more standoff a thousand punks have heard the call so fuck the pigs and fuck the law and now it's time to storm the gates and we'll go from the shopping malls straight up to their palace walls they never listened to our calls they're gonna listen now and when the last gunshots are heard every congressman and senator we'll march them right out of town as the white house comes tumbling down

do you remember the time that we were drinkin wine and i talked to people that weren't there yeah you just cracked up you called me a wingnut and we carried on into nowhere if the party it stops hope you never give up and i know someday things will be fine and though the choices we make may take us separate ways they'll bring us back again in time and someday we'll meet at that campfire pit our lives entwined once more and we can all sit and just reminisce on those stories i adore i remember the jokes all that shit up my nose and those days and nights wasted and i remember the marches taking over the parks the freedom we tasted and after all of the laughs and all the good times past and those friends whose spirits never yield like when for adventure you dumpstered fireworks and we lit em off in the field and if i look hard enough i can still see we hold the keys to the world of our dreams we do what we dare without fear or police and we'll write all new stories as we write our history - and i'm gonna sit and i'll reminisce on those stories i adore

i'm sick and tired of locking the doors it seems like i can't get any sleep anymore the world outside is in hellish demise i just wanna live my own life everyone's moving on one day to the next and the power's that be they ain't giving up yet and every day it gets harder to try i still gotta live my own life cause when the rules of the game they don't seem to change pushing me further and further away and i wonder why i even bother sometimes but then every day's another chance to break free for one more moment and nothing should ever stop me from living my life with a smile on my face and my fist held high your parents they say when to walk when to run the churches they tell you that life is no fun the teachers they told you how to stay in line but never that it's your own life yeah you still gotta live your own life falling fast and losing hope finding any way we can to cope but nothing seems to fill this hole another year another nation in flames another fucking losing game in our hearts there's nowhere left to go and even music can't save your soul but i still want my rock n roll cause i know at least it saved me from wasting away in misery lifeless toil and drudgery and i know that's gotta mean something so clap your hands if you don't give a shit about what they do or don't permit if you're sick tired of coloring inside the lines ambition power and progress well fuck their notions of success we've all got our own dreams and battles to fight but fighting the world can mean a fight with ourselves when we become just what they sell when we're preconditioned to give in so easily all they want is money and property well all we want is free ice cream free healthcare free music freedom to just be cause like a caged beast our death won't be physical it's a lock on our hearts and the loss of the wild and i'm not saying i'll ever get it right but i hope the day don't come when i stop trying while there's still time

another night of too much fun waking up to the pounding sun the price you pay it's too much to take again empty baggies at the catch out spot your friend got on but he fell off just another unknown takes the westbound you hate everything they've got to give except maybe some loose change or a cigarette you make no excuses for you or your friends if trouble comes you welcome it you can't avoid when tickets turn warrants a couple days away then you're back again it's the same everywhere you go thieves and liars with hearts of stone violent junkies in a fucked up world gone cold make that money hit that sidewalk slam pass it round and then do it again repeat the cycle and take it back to camp you can't tell one stranger from the next it's just you your dog your GG vest burning bridges and losing out on what could have been and it's the same in every town you know that there's more but you don't want out and what's the difference you don't want anything else so what you've got the world to take fuck it you'll fight until you break no hope repeat the same mistakes and you know you get what you put in but what do you want if you don't want this just one more chance before it hits

another day working just to survive the relentless tedium of the 9 to 5 the job that you have it just pays the bills mindlessly pacing through another day's drills laying in bed dreaming of better times of days filled with passion and long wild nights of friends at the campfire and songs filled with life and one to another passing the wine so forget all that talk about living your life you got bills to pay or they'll shut off the lights they'll repo your car after they take your last dime they'll steal your dignity like they've stolen your time they'll treat you as though being poor is a crime and asking for help will only get you a fine so fuck all your dreams and fuck your whole life and fuck all tomorrow you've got work at 9 and the millions spent from our taxes on another bloody war and the thousands died for a nation's pride is that what it's all for and everything you've ever done and everything you know well it's all come right down to this but now you're not alone pour water inside the tear gas in your eyes then back to the front lines to keep up the fight the struggle continues they have not yet won from Seattle Quebec to the innaguaration it never mattered who won the election cause we have lost all faith in the system the two corporate parties don't speak for us now bring them down the parties are over so what do you do look hard deep inside cause the answer's in you grab a guitar a drum grab a pen grab a gun just rem, ember the choice is yours and don't give up
